Engaging lessons, confident creators

My art curriculum focuses on making creative expression accessible, organized, and deeply engaging for all students. I blend foundational art skills—like color theory, texture, and multi-medium techniques—with structured, step-by-step guidance so students feel confident exploring their creativity. Having extensive experience managing busy, hands-on youth art projects, my teaching methods emphasize strong classroom routines, material safety, and positive reinforcement. I love connecting art to real-world imagination, ensuring every project is an opportunity for students to build problem-solving skills and take pride in their unique creations.

Curriculum for every elementary stage

My lesson plans are specifically designed for K-5 elementary students, with a strong focus on age-appropriate development. For younger students (K-2), the lessons focus on building fine motor skills, exploring basic shapes, and introducing foundational color mixing through engaging, story-based projects. For older students (3-5), the curriculum scales up to introduce more complex techniques, multi-medium projects, art history, and deeper creative problem-solving. Every lesson is structured to be highly adaptable so that all skill levels in the elementary classroom can find confidence and success.

Goals for artistic growth

Through my art curriculum, I want students to achieve a strong foundation in visual arts while building confidence in their own creative voices. My main goals are for students to master basic artistic elements—like color theory, texture, and shape—develop strong problem-solving skills through hands-on projects, and learn to appreciate diverse styles of art. Above all, I want them to gain resilience, understanding that mistakes are just a natural, exciting part of the creative process, and leave my classroom with a lifelong love for creativity.
